Here is Eli enjoying cuddle time on my sisters bed with his cousins and Uncle Ed.
Some other happenings this week - I had to make a trip to the docs since I am not feeling so great. My right leg on the way home from my sisters was feeling very warm, then cold and tingly, it was like my circulation just felt cut off completely in that leg. Basically I was told:
1. I have superficial vein thrombosis affecting my Right leg - much better than Deep Vein Thrombosis so it is something I need to watch.
2. I need to be cautious of elevating my legs as much as possible but at the same time I need to not sit for too long or be on my feet for too long. It's a balancing act.
3. I have to wear medical compression tights they are super uncomfortable but seem to help a bit. They are maternity too so they go up and over the belly, I feel like a stuffed sausage trying to get these tights on each day. I need to wear them for the full day.
4. Walking on the treadmill was also not making me feel great, the baby gets lower and causing my symptoms to actually feel worse so the doc thinks swimming is the best solution to promote circulation. Swimming takes the weight of the baby off the right artery and just feeling weightless in the pool is helpful. I was told 3 days minimum in the pool so I got a new gym membership and I am on it. I actually get the most relief when in the pool so this is fine with me.
5. Things should improve once the baby is out! That is great news, my veins won't disappear which is a concern to me and I know it is cosmetic but it still bothers me.
Other than feeling really crummy when I need to run lots of errands or do housework I am holding up ok at work, I have my legs propped up on boxes at my desk to elevate and I am taking frequent walks around the office so that I am not sitting too long. Only another month and a half of this hopefully!
Here are some more pictures from our weekend at my sisters, Enjoy!
Cousin Melina and Eli
Eli enjoying every last drop of his moose tracks ice cream!
Movie time in Melina's room (I am looking pretty rough here...it happens! hahha) Cousin Ben enjoyed the movie too, you can't see him in this picture but Eli enjoyed every minute playing with him. He was observing him like a hawk! Ben is 3 years old and Eli wants to do everything he does. In fact he even keeps saying Ben's name since we have been home from the visit. In the mall yesterday Adam said he called another little boy "Ben" who looked similar to his cousin and got all excited, how cute!
