Busy husband, marathon training and lots more!

Hey there!

My loves before daycare one day...hamming it up as usual!

Brothes in the bathtub having a good old time splashing Mommy & Daddy and themselves!

This post was started about a month ago now and that just tells you how hectic it has been for me over here! But I have added in some updates along the way :)

Let's just say Adam has been just a *tiny* bit busy! In fact, to the point where he is working like a nut all week and then putting the hours at night doing office work until 10:30/11pm in the evening after the boys go to bed. It's all stuff that needs to be done to run his business effectively and hopefully someday soon he can hire someone to do his books. The growing pains are a struggle to say the least for both Adam and myself. It's all good problems to have though! His plumbing business will be nearing a full year of operation by the start of next month and I couldn't be more proud of him. (update...officially he is at a year now in business!)

What comes along with a husband running his own business is I am left to "drop" what I am doing or what I have planned to do in order to keep things moving. The boys are often with me morning & evening solo, and I work FT and I am training for a marathon/trying to potty train Eli. I am not quite sure just yet what is the lesser of two evils! Training a 2 1/2 year old is not going so fabulous but also what is tough is having another to run after constantly! (update...no real progress in the potty department. Eli has had a few days where he has stayed dry for very long periods of time but we are not near trained yet :( I guess giving Eli his time and not pressuring him will be the key here)

On the running front I have had to be very creative with my runs, squeeze them in just about whenever I can. I am staying consistent with my training and I signed up this week for marathon so it totally seals the deal. I have committed, I will be running the full mart hon May 27th in Burlington, VT and I am really excited about it! Every time I am stressed about getting in my workouts I find a way to figure it out and persevere through the challenges I have to work with right now. That alone is empowering so I believe this marathon will be a success for me. My goal with running it is to beat my marathon time of ten years ago (back then my goal was just to finish the race without any walking and I did!) but now with more of a focus on keeping to a respectable pace. I am still working on what is achievable in the pace department. But my first thought was to finish the marathon in 4 hours 25 mins. I am training for that currently and I will keep my goal realistic should an injury occur and I have to scale back here and there. So far I am injury free and feeling great 7 weeks into my program! (update - I am now 11 1/2 weeks into my training and have had some really great progress with my running form and time! I am so excited to report my last long training run of 15 miles was completed in 2:19 ! This weekend's long run is 16 miles, I am hoping to keep that respectable pace again.)em>

The boys are doing great as usual. Little Bo started walking just before his 1st birthday (that will be my next post), and has become quite fearless. I often find him crawling up on just about anything climbable and at the top of the staircase. Baby gating is the only way to get around his antics! Bo is very verbal, he says a few words/names now very regularly and my favorite is when he says "thank you" in his baby way, he does this every time you hand him something, it is adorable! Eli has been such a great brother to Bo we couldn't ask for anything more, it is just the best to watch them both love each other. The other morning while my sister was visiting for Boden's birthday weekend Eli hugged Bo so hard they both lost their balance and toppled over, it was the cutest!

Eli took soccer (more like a soccer agility class, but great at getting kids ready for "real soccer") for a few months and it has come to an end. He did great at it and on his report card the coaches said he was a good listener, which made us proud and jealous?! We just wish we could get him to listen all time for us too! Hahaha... I can see that he really liked the class and I would have loved to kept him in it but right now we need to focus on swimming lessons. He needs to keep getting more comfortable with the water, it is a huge concern for me because our in-laws have an in ground pool he is always around. The first session starts the 15th of April and Boden will also be doing swimming too for the first time.

So now you can see how I have had little time to get caught up on my blogging duties! I also have really focused on keeping up on my goals for 2012 which has taken up allot of my focus but in a good way! I really wish I had more time to do everything, don't we all?

I will leave you with a bunch more pictures of the boys because hey I have been out of the loop with updates! Enjoy :)
My favorite little kitchen helper! Just testing out the graham crackers to make sure they are at their peak freshness for Adam's birthday cheesecake we made together. Adam turned 32 on March 3rd and requested a Salted Caramel Cheesecake that was to die for! YUM...

Eli just LOVES his tricycle from Uncle Tommy. Talks about his bike all the time and just can't wait to get on it every time he comes home from daycare & when it is sunny out on the weekends. So happy we live on a cul-de-sac for activities like these!

Eli & Cousin Ben enjoying some ribs together, what a mess!

Grandma Neyda "Gma" with all her grandchildren on her birthday celebration, we had lots of fun that day visiting with Gma.

Eli holding his girlfriend Emma's hand at the indoor petting zoo we went to 2 weekends ago with friends. They are just too cute together!

Eli, Boden, and Marissa together playing at our house. Marissa's mommy & daddy are Boden's godparents, and Marissa doesn't know it yet but Bo has the hots for her ;)
