Well hello there....

Here I am 35 weeks and 5 days preggers, only a few more weeks to go!
This past week was interesting to say the least, I am now on a semi-bed rest type of situation. Meaning I can go to work but need to keep my feet elevated as much as possible, and when home I need to REST. That is easier said than done with an 18 month old but Adam has been stepping up quite a bit around the house. This all started when I went to the docs for a normal appt. on Valentine's day and measured small for my week of pregnancy. The doc felt the need to get me a growth ultrasound right way, so that is how we spent Valentine's day around here. The ultrasound concluded that the baby is smaller (20% percentile) and I have low amniotic fluid. The recommendation was to do exactly this - REST, REST and REST more. So that is what I did.
I am happy to report that yesterday's growth check up concluded that what I am doing is working, the amniotic fluid did not change which is all I can ask for at this stage. Also, the weight of the baby isn't as small as I was envisioning, he is aprox. 4lbs 9 oz right now so every week in the womb the better. At the end babies gain most of their weight so it is very possible baby # 2 will make his arrival and still be a substantial weight.
The plan right now is weekly visits as it should be at this stage of the game. They will check my amniotic fluid of course at these appointments and I am to call the docs if I feel any absence of movement from the baby. Luckily I can report this is not a problem for me. He is actually causing lots of pain with each and every movement I feel (thanks to the low fluid - there is less cushioning). I just really need to listen to my body. I think back when pregnant with Eli I had some lower back pain 2 months that required some physical therapy and getting in the pool but once that hurdle was cleared I was fine. This just goes to show you no 2 babies are the same!
Adam took Eli to Cabella's on Saturday which was very helpful with keeping Eli entertained on such a frigid cold CT day. He bought Eli his very first fishing rod for opening day. Eli loves it, it is a light up Spider Man fishing rod. He played with it immediately when Adam opened it at home, but then we had to take it away so he wouldn't break it and that didn't go over so well. He was using it like a hockey stick!
Here are some pics....

Yesterday morning - Eli coloring, he loves crayons and tells you exactly which one to use and if you don't use that color he has a meltdown. Seriously, this child is something else! 2 times Adam and I have had to stop coloring with him just to show him he can't always get his way, he was so po'd with us! Oh well. He also needs to stop stomping his foot when he wants things! He knows exactly what he is doing and we are just consistent with how we handle things, that is all we can do right now. Welcome to the early terrible 2's I guess!
